Vertical blinds can be vacuumed regularly using the bristle attachment, this will avoid any dust build up. Blockout blinds can just be wiped down with a damp cloth. Fabric blinds can be removed and soaked in the bath , drapes can be given a gentle scrub to remove dust build up. (make sure you remove the bottom weights, chain and hangers before soaking). Avoid any strong or excessively soapy detergents as this may compromise the fabric once re-hung. Once the fabric has been cleaned, hang the wet drapes up to dry, out of direct sunlight and do everything possible to avoid creases as these can never be removed. Do not iron fabric as the light nylon content may result in the fabric melting or being damaged. Do not tumble dry.
Wooden Venetian Blinds
Whilst the Diamond Coated slatting will withstand moisture, it is best to avoid wetting these blinds. Rather wipe them down with a dry cloth or use the bristle attachment and a vacuum.
These blinds are exceptionally susceptible to mildew and we recommend that you avoid getting them wet (indoor bamboo). Use a dry scrubbing brush or the bristle attachment and a vacuum to give them a gentle scrub.
Roller blinds are a little more challenging to clean than most other blinds. They can be vacuumed using the bristle attachment. Roller blinds should not be cleaned as such , rather dab them with a damp cloth to remove and marks. Avoid any detergents as it is very difficult to remove them from the fabric without creasing it. Once the fabric is creased it is exceptionally difficult to remove the creases. Do not iron the fabric, as it has a very high nylon content, it will either be damaged or melt. Blockout or PVC blinds can be wiped with a damp cloth.
It is possible to repair most blinds , depending on the severity of the damage. We prefer not to repair blinds that were not made in our factory as not all companies use the same or even the same quality components and for this reason most are not interchangeable. We will however assist where we can.
All of our blinds are supplied with a 2 year guarantee on the workmanship and components (however, this guarantee does not cover user abuse).
